CORSIA has applied to international aviation since 1 January 2019 when all 航空公司 were required to report their CO2 每年的排放量. From 1 January 2021, international flights will become subject to offsetting obligations.

Offsetting is not intended to replace efforts to reduce the sector’s carbon emissions through technology, 运营和基础设施的进步. CORSIA will not make fuel efficiency any less of a day-to-day priority for 航空公司.

95299九五至尊 is highly concerned that if the stringency to be pursued through CORSIA 和 impact on international civil aviation are much higher than originally forecast 和 no longer reflect the ICAO’s targets, some governments would no longer 支持 CORSIA 和 participation in the scheme would be lower than expected.

95299九五至尊 therefore recommends that pre-crisis emissions be used to determine reference level emissions 和 is calling on ICAO to establish CORSIA’s baseline emissions on 2019 emissions only.

Unfortunately, the success of CORSIA may be jeopardized by the national policies of some states. 特别关注的, is the action of some states in applying or considering the application of a carbon pricing instrument or ticket tax to address emissions from international aviation, 在CORSIA上面.
